Hey, There!
I’m Brenda McMillian
My real estate career started back in 1998. I was working for a small car dealership when the owner said he thought I would make a good real estate agent. I had never considered going into real estate, but he gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse. He said, “If you find a real estate class to attend, I will pay for you to go.” He was true to his word, and I started attending JY Monk Real Estate School (now Kaplan Real Estate Education) on the weekends. The more I attended class, the more I grew to love what I was learning.
I didn’t do anything publicly with my salesperson license for over a year. After a diligent search, I found an incredible mentor in Rockingham, NC, who owned his own agency. He took me under his wing and taught me well. Later, I went back to real estate school and obtained my Broker’s license in January 2001. After learning to fly from my mentor—and with his blessing—I ventured out on my own and ran my own agency for many years.
When the real estate market crashed, I decided to take a break. Then, around 2018, a former classmate approached me about handling a real estate deal for her. I explained my situation, and she was willing to wait while I took the necessary classes to become active again. Although I didn’t end up doing that deal, I realized that my love for real estate was still very much alive. So, I started telling people I was back in business. Little did I know the joys that awaited me when potential clients started calling.
I was looking for a great company that could provide the technology I needed to compete and succeed. I found United Real Estate – Queen City, and I found my freedom there. I was impressed with what they offered. When I found out they charged a small flat fee per transaction instead of a percentage, I literally said, “Where do I sign?” Having more money per transaction has been such a blessing. It has allowed me to take care of the things I need to do, enjoy some of the things I want to do, and be a blessing to others. But more than the income, having an occupation I truly enjoy is the greatest blessing of all.
In addition to working with United, I also own my own agency, BMac Realty, LLC. My growing list of certifications and designations is all part of my commitment to better serve you!
